Jeff Batter - keyboard
Robbie La Blanc -vocals, guitar

TRACK FRAGMENTS:
1.) “I Come Alive” –There is a bass drum/snare drum that kicks-off this intro section.  It sounded like there were two guitar arrangements for the musical intro.  The first guitar was playing the main arrangement over the top of the second rhythm guitar that was mainly playing fill-in chords.  Kyle plays a small snare drum fill to connect the musical intro with the musical pre-verse.  There is a rhythm guitar change for the musical pre-verse.  The rhythm guitar arrangement of the musical pre-verse was mainly rhythm chords. (Damn that sound so stupid when I say that in my head! LOL) There is a small lead guitar lick connecting the musical pre-verse with the musical verse.  There is another small lead lick connecting the musical verse with the musical verse.  Jeff kicks-in a keyboard arrangement for the musical verse.  Because the keyboard is over the top of the rhythm guitar it actually becomes the lead instrument of the musical chorus.  There is a small pre-verse connecting the first and second chorus.  The lead guitar solo was nothing fancy and about what you would expect for this style of music.  There is a small musical and lyrical breakdown connecting the solo with I believe the fourth chorus.  The outro consisted of a chorus over the top of a minor lead guitar solo.
2.) “Falling From The Moon” –This intro consisted of a keyboard arrangement over the top of an acoustic guitar.  The bans change both the keyboard and acoustic guitar for the musical verse.  Listening to it the second time through I can hear a small bass line.  The drum line and song actually kicks-in for the musical chorus.  The lyrical chorus had a huge hook attached to it.  For the second verse Jeff began playing synthesizer chords with his left hand.  The lead guitar solo is after the second chorus.  It was a lot shorter than I was expecting however the hook of the chorus is so strong that most general rock fans are not going to notice.  The verses of this song musically were very reminiscent to the one-hit wonders of the seventies.
3.) “I Swear To You” – There was a small drum fill that opened this intro section.  The main musical intro was very reminiscent to any classic rock band such as Foreigner or Reo Speedwagon.  In the way the band arranged the lyric lines of the verse made gave the vocals of the verse a Kelly Hanson of Foreigner feel.  This is in arrangement only and not in sound.  There is a small musical change for the musical verse.  There was a small hook attached to the backing vocals of the chorus.  There is a small lead guitar scale connecting the third and fourth lyric line of the second verse.  There is a small drum fill connecting the second verse with the second chorus.  The lead guitar solo runs underneath the third chorus and continues through the outro section.  This was one of those tracks that reminded me of those eighties songs that were not quite top 40 songs however wasn’t hard rock songs either (ex. Richard Marx) but you bought anyway because girls dug it.
4.) “Everything” – This ballad has everything a ballad needs and was a very well written song!!!
5.) “It’s All About The Love” – This intro opens with a small drum fill.  The main musical intro consisted of keyboards over the top of an acoustic guitar arrangement.  The first few notes of the keyboards of this intro had a Neil Diamond – “Coming To America” feel.  For the musical verse the band changes the musical arrangement by dropping the keyboard arrangement and just using the acoustic guitar.  There is a small keyboard riff connecting the verse with the pre-chorus.  The choruses of this track had huge hooks attached to them.  There was a small breakdown section after the lead guitar solo.  For this breakdown section the band slowed the song down just a little.  The lead guitar solo actually runs underneath the rest of the song.
6.) “Goodbye Summer Goodbye” –There is a small drum fill that opens this intro.  The main musical intro had a much laid back simple rock feel to it.  Since this track contained both an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar rhythm.  What the band done on the musical verse was keep the acoustic rhythm the same and change the electric.  There was a small electric guitar rhythm change for the musical chorus.  There is a minor lead guitar solo between the second and third chorus.  Outside of this minor solo there is no major solo for the song.
7.) “Deep In The Heart” – There is a small minor lead guitar solo over the top of this intro section.  The band used the same acoustic guitar arrangement for the musical pre-verse as the intro.  I’m not sure however it sounded as if the acoustic guitar was double tracked.   A small keyboard arrangement kicks-in for the musical verse.  There is a minor lead guitar solo underneath the lyric lines of the musical chorus.  There is a small minor lead guitar solo connecting the chorus with the second verse.  The song has a huge Country music hook especially through the chorus.  The major solo is after the second chorus.
8.) “Don’t Take It Away” – This track opens with a very simple rock n roll intro.  Over the top of the second and third measure there is a small vocal accent.  There is a small rhythm arrangement change for the musical verse.  The verse and chorus of this song run into each other.  There are just too close together for my taste.  The lead guitar solo connects the second and third chorus.  Because of the way this song was arranged I just could not get into this track.  To be honest if it had of been arranged different it would have been a good song.
9.) “Like A Believer” –There is a vocal line over the top of this simple rock intro.  There is a small arrangement change for the musical verse.  The chorus had a very simple hook attached to it.  Of all the songs on the release this one was probably the most basic of them all.
10.) “Light Of The World” - This track opens with vocals and piano.  For the musical verse there are two different acoustic guitar arrangements.  The first one is playing a strumming arrangement and the second is playing a picking arrangement.  There is a small arrangement change for the musical chorus.  There is a lead guitar solo after the second chorus.  The lead guitar solo runs underneath the third chorus and through the outro section.
11.) “I Will” – There is a small minor lead guitar solo over the top of this short intro arrangement.  There is a small musical change for the musical verse.  The musical verse had a mid-nineties Country feel to it.  For Country fans they will really like the Country hook the chorus has.  There is a lead guitar solo after the first chorus.  There is another lead guitar solo after the second chorus.  This lead guitar solo runs underneath the third chorus and over the top of the outro.
12.) “Fly” – This track opens with a keyboard intro.  There is a keyboard arrangement change for the musical verse.  The band also adds an acoustic guitar arrangement to the musical verse.  The chorus had a very simple hook.  There was small lead guitar solo underneath the vocal lines of the chorus.  Much like Lincoln Logs the band adds more and more to the foundation of this song.  From beginning to end this was a very simple straight forward ballad.

‘Falling From The Moon’ marks the Blanc brothers and their band, Blanc Faces second release.  All though I never got the chance to hear their freshman self-titled release for myself here it is almost five years later and many fans are still rotating it.  The majority of the twelve songs are heavily influenced by bands such as seventies Arena Rock bands such as Journey, Manfred Mann, and Foreigner especially the new stuff with Kelly Hanson (In fact, if someone was to mix some of these songs up with songs on Foreigner’s new release titled – ‘Can’t Slow Down’, they would swear it was the same band with two different singers!)  As the CD progresses the songs take on an early to mid-nineties County music feel, Blackhawk, Little Texas, etc….Outside of the Country sound. (and that’s a personal taste)  THIS CD IS AN AMAZING CD AND A MUST HAVE FOR ALL A.O.R. FANS!!!!
