DI' Anno -'Nomad'
Released on Perris Records in 2001
THE BAND:
Paul Di'anno - vocals
Paulo Turin - guitars
Chico Dehira - guitars
Felipe Andreoli - bass
Aquiles Priester - drums
TRACK FRAGMENTS:
1.) "Intro" - This intro that kicks the CD off has sound effects
of wind howling and church bells. The main keyboard pattern sounds a lot like
the main music of "The Exorcist" written and composed by Mike Oldsfield.
2.) "Mad Man in the Attic" -This track kicks off with a huge drum fill
and double bass drum pattern. The double bass drum has an awesome sound. The
guitar pattern is just a simple metal pattern. During the bridge they change
patterns to just a single bass drum pattern. The bridge also has a Di'anno
spoken piece in it.
3.) "War Machine" - This track kicks off with a huge guitar intro. The
power of the double bass is just deafening. Paul uses the Iron Maiden vocal
style that he created on this track.
4.) "Brothers of the Tomb" - The drum pattern on this intro just blew me
away. Paul really shows his power vocally on this on. The mix of drums playing
the same pattern as the guitar really sounded cool.
5.) "P.O.V. 2000" - This track opens with an older Judas Priest type
guitar pattern. The song has a very modern edge to it.
6.) "The Living Dead" - This ballad kicks off with a clean Metallica type
guitar intro. The guitar arrangements on this track where great! During the
first verse they kick the song in with heavy guitar patterns. But still keep the
songs ballad feel. The solo was real laid back and melodic.
7.) "Nomad" - This track kicks of with a huge bass line. The vocal tracks
on this one are more melodic than the rest of the songs on this release.
8.) "S.A.T.A.N." - This track has a straight forward in your face-picking
pattern. The guitar solo is a lot like Eighties Judas Priest.
9.) "Cold War" - The intro here is a lot like Priest. The double bass
drum pattern is very uptempo and fast.
10.) "Do or Die" - This track is also another one on the CD that as
unbelievable double bass drum work. The guitar pattern is just a simple metal
pattern, nothing real special.
11.) "Dog Dead" - This modern sounding metal song has double bass drum
work. The guitar patterns are real simple sounding.
Personally I really did not care for this much, I'm not really in to Paul's style of music. But there is a couple great guitar patterns, and the double was drum work on it was awesome. I feel that only fans of Paul's or groups within the Iron Maiden vein will like this release.
