Jeffery Philip Wielandt was born on January 14, 1967 to Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Wielandt in Bayonne New Jersey.  Shortly after Jeffery was born his family which now included a sister moved to Jackson New Jersey.  Still to this day, family and friends call Jeff 'Flip', a nickname given to him by his father.  Jeff first picked up the guitar at a very early age, only to drop it due to lack of interest.  At the age of fourteen while attending Jackson Memorial High School Jeff began taking guitar lessons from his football coach.  While attending high school Jeff began dating classmate Barbaranne Caterina, who would later become his wife.  After graduating high school Jeff joined a local band called  'Zyris'.  The guitarist Jeff replaced was Dave Linsk who had left the band to form Overkill.  It was with the band 'Zyris' were Jeff began using the stage name Zakari Wyland.  The stage name is based upon the character Dr. Zachary Smith from the seventies TV series, 'Lost In Space'.  One night at a local club rock photographers, Mark Weiss and Dave Feld took notice of Zakk's great playing ability and confronted the young guitarist about auditioning for legendary vocalist Ozzy Osbourne.  Zakk took the audition figuring, "Well I'm only working at a gas station, what do I got to lose."  After the audition, figuring he did not get the job was very surprised when he received a phone call from Ozzy's manager/wife Sharon asking him too join the band.  In May of 1987 Zakk joins The Osbourne band which also included legendary bassist Bob Daisly and drummer Randy  Castillo (rest in peace).  Not long after 'No Rest For The Wicked' was released Zakk quickly made a name for himself with the young guitarist for his unique playing style and sound.  The 'No More Tears' was billed as Ozzy's farewell tour.  In 1994 Zakk along with drummer Brian Lichy, and former White Lion bassist James Lomenzo released, 'Pride & Glory'.  The songs on 'Pride & Glory' are a mixture of The Allman Brothers along with Lynard Skynard.  A lot of metal fans were taken aback by this style of music.  In 1995 Ozzy came out of retirement to record "Ossmosis", which include Zakk on lead guitar.  For several reasons Ozzy hired guitarist Joe Holmes for the 'Ossmosis' tour.  Now having free time on his hands Zakk began recording what would become, 'Book Of Shadows'.  For me, musically and lyrically 'Book Of Shadows' is some of the best stuff Zakk has released.  Sometime between 1995 and 1998 Zakk formed Back Label Society.  In the years between 1998 Zakk Wylde has release six studio CD's, one live CD, and one DVD under the moniker of Black Label Society plus continue to record with Ozzy.
'Kings Of Damnation' consists of eighteen tracks that span the career of the musician that revolutionized electric lead guitar.  With 'Kings Of Damnation' you not only get seventeen of the best songs Zakk as recorded, but the CD also consists of two unreleased songs.  Personally, I think every hard rock fan should own his entire catalog, but in this day and time who can afford to spend fifty or sixty dollars to buy an artists entire catalog.  If you fall in that category then Zakk released this CD for you.  But if you're like me and own everything Zakk has released because you're an unofficial member of the Black Label Society Chapter this CD is still a must have.  Not only because of the two unreleased tracks but also because it is a great CD to keep in you vehicle.
