Britny Fox…Boy that's a name I have not heard in awhile. Britny Fox was one
of those great Eighties bands that where really looked over. I guess you could
say it was because their look and sound was so similar to Cinderella's.
Britny Fox's freshman release was a great CD, with song's like "Long Way to
Love", Girlschool" and " Save the Weak". After the release of their second CD
"Boy's in Heat" the pressures from being an overnight success in the media's eye
and going from an opening act to headlining their own shows. The very foundation
under the band started to crack and break apart. Lead singer 'Dizzy' Dean
Davidson decided to go his own way and form his own group, the group would be
called, "Black Eyed Susan". What was Britny Fox to do? Call it quits? I don't
think so, they would do what any great band would do, hire a new singer and
forge on. The band hires vocalist Tommy Paris and hit the studio to record "Bite
down Hard". "Bite down Hard" was not well respected by fans and quickly found
it's way into the bargain bins of American music stores. In 1992 the band
decides to call in quits.
In 2000 with the eighties hard rock scene starting to make a come back.
Britny Fox decided to reform and give it one more try. In 2001 Britny Fox get
signed to Spitfire Records and release "Long Way to Live".
"Long Way to Live", has to be one of the greatest live CD's I believe I've
ever heard. For once the sound quality is great. This CD contains such Britny
Fox hits as, "Long Way to Love", "Lonely to Long", "Liar", "Dream On", and "Girlschool".
Not to mention of a awesome Michael Kelly Smith solo. For you older Britny fans
out there at times Tommy sounds just like original vocalist 'Dizzy' Dean. I
would subject you eighties metal fans out there to rush out there and buy this
CD.
