TRACK FRAGMENTS:
1.)"Cheyenne Spirit" -This track kicks off with a keyboard/drum intro.
Through the intro there is a very melodic classical sounding lead scale. Towards
the last half of the intro the drummer rips off this huge double bass drum
pattern. The guitar arrangement is a pretty standard strumming arrangement.
Sabine has a very laid back progressive sounding voice and sounds great with
this type music. The keyboard bridge has a minstrel sound to it. There is a
string arrangement type solo along with an electric guitar solo before the last
chorus.
2.)"Sunrise in Eden" -The intro here has a Japanese sounding guitar intro. When
the full band intro starts there is a strange mix of Japanese and standard
electric guitar arrangements. When the verse stars the song has almost a ballad
feel it. There are a couple real cool lead scale rhythms with guitar that set
the song off. The song is well structured musically. Towards the end of the song
there is a flute type bridge leading into a long guitar solo.
3.)"Forever Shine on" - This track kicks off with an acoustic rhythm and lead
scale. This really is the first actual ballad on the release. The subtle voice
of Sabine along with the acoustic guitars is what makes the song.
4.)"Holy Fire"-This track kicks off with an orchestrated keyboard arrangement
and lead guitar scale. When the pre-verse and main body of the song kick in, it
has a classic progressive style to it. During the verse the band change the
musical arrangement to a slower style, which really throws the listener for a
second. On of the things that stand out in my mind the most on this song is the
excellent drum work. The drums seem to build with power with each passing bar of
music.
5.)"Wings of the Wild" -This track kicks off with a huge late eighties metal
progressive sounding guitar scale/pattern. After the intro the band really slow
the music down to a semi-ballad arrangement. The vocal lines have a choir
backing vocals, which give the song a haughting effect. After the bridge the
song picks up quite a bit for a well-rounded ending.
6.)"In the Rain"- The intro of this track kicks off with the entire band. When
the vocals kick in the song has a very ballad feel to it. The pre-chorus and
chorus have a lot of hooks in them, and are really is the only one off the CD
that is radio friendly.
7.)"Midnight at Noon"-This track kicks off with a huge drum pattern and lead
scale. There is a double bass drum pattern on this song which gives the song a
pulsating effect. There is a keyboard solo on this track, which is pretty common
for this style of music.
8.)"Take Me Back"-This ballad has a acoustic guitar as the lead instrument.
There is several real cool acoustic lead scales scattered through out the track
that sound great. The solo was done with a clean electric.
9.)"My last Step beyond" -This track has a keyboard intro, done in almost a
horror show type way…"Very Haughting". When the song kicks in it pretty much
goes into a standard progressive style.
I myself was never a big fan of progressive music. So at time for me it was hard
to get into this CD. The band is very talented musicians and Sabine has a
excellent voice. This release would make any fan of progressive music very
happy, and they should check it out.
